Poppy Love

$4.00

A sweet blend of pinks, ruby reds, and tinges of orange will have your heart. For this mix we combined Champagne Bubbles Icelandic Poppies and Corn Poppies. We adored the contrast during the summer months! Poppies tend to reseed themselves. After the flowers are spent pods will form. After they harden up in the fall here in Michigan, we collect them for seed. It’s super easy! You can store the pod and simply shake out the seeds on the ground prior to the last frost for seeds the next spring, or shake them out in the early spring and watch them grow!

approx. 300 teeny tiny seeds

Growing Tips

  • Start seeds 6-8 weeks before last frost and cover very lightly. Bottom water or mist seeds due to them being so light and tiny.

  • Direct sowing in early spring or fall.

  • Watch for germination in 7-14 days.

  • Plant out when temps are still cooler. The do best in temps below 70 degrees.

  • Space about 6” apart in full sun to part shade.

  • They aren’t particularly picky about the soil.

  • 85-100 days to maturity/blooms.

  • They will reseed themselves.
